Dance, Dance, Dance

 Hello Spartans,

 This week we are going to learn a dance called The Virginia Reel. It originated from other dances that came from Ireland, Scotland, and England, but as we know it today, it has many variations. The Virginia Reel was named after the state of Virginia by the American colonists. It was first published in 1685 by a man named Sir Roger de Coverly, making it one of the oldest dances that is still performed in our country today. 

The second dance we are going to learn is Marie's Wedding.

Both dances are in preparation for 6th Grade Feziwig's Ball.

 Hello Spartans! This week students will be introduced to FitnessGram. FitnessGram is a comprehensive fitness assessment battery for youth. It includes a variety of health-related physical fitness tests designed to assess cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and body composition. Monday and Tuesday scholars will learn the PUSH-UP (90 DEGREES) , design to measure upper-body strength and endurance .   Greetings Spartans, For the week of December 07-December 10  our Spartans will do circuit training  with focus on fitness( Push up, Curl-up, Jump Rope and Balance board)  and Volleyball skills(Forearm Pass, Settings, Underhand and Overhand Serve). Go Spartans!
